Brett R. DeGooyer, D.O.
Dr. Brett DeGooyer grew up in Green River, Wyoming before moving to Colorado, where he graduated magna cum laude from Colorado Mesa University with a bachelor’s degree in biology. From there he attended A.T. Still University of Health Sciences-Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine where he earned his medical degree. He stayed in Kirksville to complete combined residencies in Family Medicine and Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine, was selected Chief Resident his last two years of training, and honored with the award of Master Teacher by his peers.
Dr. DeGooyer practiced primary care medicine for five years in Washington where he also served as an associate professor of clinical sciences and a department chair at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences-College of Osteopathic Medicine. He has lectured at many state and national meetings, was given the Rising Star Award by the Northwest Osteopathic Medical Foundation, and named as a Future Leader by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians. He completed his fellowship training in Erie, Pennsylvania where he participated as a team physician for NCAA Division-I and Division-II sports (Mercyhurst University), an Ontario Hockey League team (Erie Otters), a PIFL arena football team (Erie Explosion), and an NBA Developmental League team (Erie Bayhawks).
Dr. DeGooyer specializes in non-operative management of musculoskeletal issues, injury prevention, concussion management, diagnostic & interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound – including the Tenex procedure, regenerative medicine – including prolotherapy and PRP, and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatments. He has a deep-rooted commitment to patient care, preventive health, and medical education. He believes that medicine should be a team-approach, centered on open communication, best-practice methods, and personalized treatment plans. He is known for taking this approach with every patient, and treating each as family. He is passionate about crafting his skill in Sports Medicine and in caring for athletes of all ages and abilities.
Dr. DeGooyer loves his family, and is devoted to his wonderful wife and super six children. They enjoy spending time together playing sports, traveling, watching movies, going to water parks, making music, eating out, playing games at home, and visiting with friends and family.
