At 7, I really liked digging and thought I was going to be a ditch digger but that professional goal didn’t last very long. My Mother was an orthopedic surgeon and in Junior High I decided that I too wanted to be a doctor.
I thought I’d go into primary care until my third year of medical school when I realized that I wanted to be an orthopedic surgeon, too. I think it was the opportunity to fix things. I love the tools that we get to work with as surgeons and the fact that we get to FIX our patients.
I really enjoy what I do. I like working with my patients. I think my patients see that I care because I spend time to listen to each one of them. I also really enjoy my surgery days, when I get to work with those power tools.
