Maxwell Thomas, MD
Dr. Thomas is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon who received his medical and surgical training at the University of Arizona. He specializes in shoulder replacement surgery; minimally invasive hip and knee replacement; anterior hip replacement surgery; unicompartmental knee replacement; arthroscopic treatment of shoulder and knee ailments; and fracture care. Dr. Thomas’ surgical expertise is complemented by a personable style and dedication to the highest quality of patient outcomes and satisfaction.
A current member of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Thomas has practiced in a private orthopaedic surgery setting since 1998. Originally a carpenter before discovering a passion for medicine, he’s been honored by his peers and has been named one of PHOENIX Magazine’s Top Doctors.
In his spare time, Dr. Thomas enjoys windsurfing and training for marathons and triathlons. He is among a prestigious group of triathletes who have qualified for the Hawaii Ironman Championship and even won his age group at the 2011 Lost Dutchman Mine Marathon in Apache Junction, Arizona. Dr. Thomas enjoys spending his free time with his wife, a physical therapist, and their three children.
