Dr. Lake was born in Phoenix, AZ and attended Deer Valley High School in Glendale, where he graduated valedictorian in a class of nearly 600 students. He attended the University of Arizona where he earned a degree in chemistry and graduated with the highest academic distinction, summa cum laude. Dr. Lake continued at the University of Arizona for his medical degree. There he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (AOA). AOA is the only national medical honor society and induction is based not only on highest academic distinction, but leadership, professionalism, promise of future success, and commitment to service. Dr. Lake chose to complete residency in orthopaedic surgery at Campbell Clinic because of its deep roots and tradition in the field of orthopaedics. Campbell Clinic is the home of the first orthopaedic surgery residency program and is known nationally and internationally for Campbell’s Operative Orthopaedics, the definitive textbook on orthopaedic surgery used in physician training. He was elected Chief Resident during his training at Campbell Clinic. Dr. Lake then completed a foot and ankle fellowship at the internationally renowned Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Lake was active in medical education during residency and fellowship and has written several articles as well as book chapters. Dr. Lake enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, playing basketball, as well as participating in other athletic and outdoor activities.
